Wat Khrok Phraya

Wat Khrok Phraya

Walking through the living area north of the Chao Phraya river arm, we came across Wat Khrok Phraya. Lots of locals and children were taking notice of us when we visited. We were told that this was one of the most important temples of the Ayutthaya period and dates back to before A.D. 1350. Kings and members of the royal family were ordered to be killed here (for whatever reason).  A temple wall still surrounds the bell-shaped chedi and the Viharn.
