Wat Prot Sat

Wat Prot Sat

In two attempts we tried to visit Wat Prot Sat which is located right next to the Chao Phraya River. The second time we were actually able to speak with a high ranking monk who told us that the temple remains closed out of fear of burglary. Basically it was the same story as in Wat Song Kuson, just down the road. There are so many break-ins that the monks are afraid to leave the temple for their alms round in the morning. While we were allowed to visit the beautiful Ubosot and pay our respect to the presiding Buddha image, we were asked not to take any pictures. We would not have displayed the pictures anyway, but we respected this request and were thankful for having been able to enter the building.
