Kamphaeng Phet was one of
the significant cities during the Sukhothai kingdom. Today there are
Historical Parks in Kamphaeng Phet itself, in the town of Traitrung and in
the District of Nakhon Chum. Most of the monuments are temples from the
Theravada Buddhism adopted from Sri Lanka. They date back to the 13th
Century. Kamphaeng Phet's ancient places are not as compact as the ones in
Sukhothai or Ayutthaya and they are less visited. |
