Wat Tham Bo Ya

Huge Buddha image of Wat Tham Bo Ya

In an idyllic setting 30 km outside of Nakhon Sawan town amidst rice fields and hills is Wat Tham Bo Ya or Wat Thep Nimit Song Tham. A steep stairway leads up to the Buddha image on the hill and to a number of large caves, which are filled with many Buddha images as well as Hindu Gods. Unfortunately there were many dogs inside the caves and only after I got help from an older monk was I able to get deeper inside the main cave with the huge Buddha image. Humidity and heat when going up the hill and into the caves is a real killer here!
