Wat Tham Khaeow Sawan Bandan  

Right before the Three Pagodas Pass on the Burmese Border is a small forest temple. It is actually more a meditation center with only 5 monks. While the ubosot was a rather new construction it featured a beautiful Phra Phutta Chinnarath statue inside. We were lucky to find a nice monk which spent several hours with us and walked us through the countless caves in the mountain next to the temple buildings. There were several rather scary moments when we climbed up the old wooden staircases or the slippery trails in the caves. Since we only had one flash light it was impossible to see where to walk and I actually fell pretty bad, but with the protection of the Buddha images in the caves I did not suffer any serious injuries.
