Wat Yan Nawa
This temple sits along the river bed of the Chao Praya and is visible from Taksin bridge, the boat tours or when going to the last stop of the Skytrain, called Saphan Taksin. Besides a beautiful old Ubosot, the temple contains a building which resembles a ship. It is the platform for two chedis and seems to house the Viharn with a standing Buddha image. It also provides a nice view over the temple grounds. The original temple dates back to Ayutthaya times and the name has changed several times. Wat Yannawa was one of the first temples we visited when we first started this web site and we just went back to it when we approached the one thousand mark in 2009.
