Wat Chong Klang

Wat Chong Klang

Typically the first temple to visit in Mae Hong Son City and a typical example of a Burmese-style temple. The Chedi was built  in 1860 by Thai Yai or Shan people. There are several Burmese-style Buddha images as well as a copy of Phra Buddha Sihing which is covered with gold leaves. Another interesting item are glass paintings depicting the Vessantara Jataka sccriptures.
