Wat Phra Borom That Thung Yang

Wat Boromathat Tung Yang

Our good luck during the visit of Uttaradit continued with Wat Boromathat. The abbot opend the old Viharn for us so we could pay our respect to Luang Phor To, a large Sukhothai-style image. The viharn is a large building with old murals on the walls but it needs renovation soon. Walking through the beautiful garden one realizes how large the building is and opens the view to the large chedi behind it. On Visakha Bucha Day each year the temple holds a special ritual of Lord Buddha's cremation.
