Wat Po Yoi

Wat Po Yoi

Wat Po Yoi in Pa Kham district is not really a temple one goes to on purpose but a quick stop on the way to the Khmer sanctuaries in the area of southern Buriram. The temple buildings themselves where of little architectural interest but one old structure (we could not find out if it is a Viharn or Ubosot) contains many stones found in the nearby Khmer sites. The foundation of the temple building is made up of old laterite stones and there are many boundary stones with Rishis and Chedis engraved. When we visited in May 2008 the building was at the edge of collapsing and the whole site needed to be cleaned up badly.
