Wat That Thong

Wat That Thong

For 10 years we had passed by Wat That Thong on the skytrain, in taxis or cars and we never managed to visit it, or find it open. Exactly 10 years to the day after first spotting it, we found it open and went inside during a break of a ceremony. One of the monks asked us in and explained some of the history of the temple to us. Built in 1937 on the land of two former temples, Wat That and Wat Thong. Most people pay respect to the Buddha images and the statues of important monks which are located along Sukhumvit Road and never make it past the huge parking lot to the temple buildings.
